Gavin Cox

Gavin Cox currently owns and operates Lowcountry Sports Network and oversees the tennis programs at Colleton River Plantation, Belfair, Hampton Hall and Berkeley Hall.  LSN is developing junior programs at the Bluffton Recreation Center, Beaufort and is involved with tennis leadership camps.

Gavin spent 20 years working for Van Der Meer Tennis University in different capacities.

• As Operations Manager, his duties included overseeing 70 staff members, financial, marketing, merchandise, staffing, and training responsibilities.
• While Director of Tennis, he opened and managed a new 17 court indoor/outdoor facility in Lake of Ozarks, MO.
• Actively involved with programming and coaching.

Gavin has run many tournaments ranging from club Pro-Ams to numerous USTA Sectional and Satellite tournaments.  He has been very involved with USTA School Programs, the USTA Training Center, and is currently one of approximately 50 USTA National Recreational Coaches across the country.

Gavin was born in Zambia and lived in Zimbabwe for 17 years. Gavin, his wife, Jill, and their two daughters, Kristin and Terri, have lived in Hilton Head Island since 1982.

Gavin’s philosophy:

“My aim is to create an active and enjoyable tennis experience for those participating in my programs.  I try to do this by implementing fun and active programming for all level players, including round robins, exhibitions and game matching.”
