Supporting the local community…

Colleton River is a part of the Bluffton, South Carolina community and our members avidly support a variety of outreach programs. In addition to individual donations to their favorite charities, members are quick to volunteer their time and effort in a number of ways.

Here are just a few examples:

• The Bluffton Boys and Girls Club inspires and enables young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Club maintains a dedicated youth facility, open daily, where children have a safe environment to learn and grow. Colleton River members have served on the Club’s Board of Directors, while others have dedicated their time to working with the boys and girls on special projects. Still others have supported the Club’s fund-raising activities.
• The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships for higher education to deserving sons and daughters of Marines and children of former Marines. To raise money for the Foundation, the Corps holds an annual golf outing at its nearby Parris Island facility. Colleton River members support this activity by volunteering as workers and by participating in the tournament.
• Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian housing organization building simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership for people of need. Colleton River volunteers have provided their skills and enthusiasm to help make these homes a reality.
