Q: Do you have to be a member to play the golf courses?
A: Colleton River Plantation is private, member-owned facility and is not open for public play.  If you are a member of a private club in your hometown, you may have your Golf Professional contact Matt Lucchesi, Director of Golf, and request a tee time.  Your request will be granted based on availability and within our guidelines for unaccompanied golf play.

Q: I am considering buying property in Colleton River, how can I play the courses before purchasing?
A: Realtors with qualified prospective buyers may submit a Tee Time Request Form to Matt Lucchesi, Director of Golf.

Q: What are the initiation fees and are they fully or partially refundable?
A:The property transfer fee is $15,000 and is non-refundable.

Q: What are the annual dues?
A: The Annual Operating Assessment is $12,950.

Q: Are there other assessments?
A: The Reserve Replacement Assessment is $1,700 annually and accrues to repair non-capital items such as roads and community grounds.

The Nicklaus Clubhouse Assessment is $2,500 annually and expires in 2017 or may be prepaid; please contact the Membership Department for the settlement schedule.

Q: Is Colleton River financially sound?  What measures have been taken in reaction to the current economy?
A: We produced an operating surplus in 2009 and budgeted for an operating surplus in 2010. In response to economic realities, management, with approval from the Board of Directors, has implemented program efficiencies and operational changes to reorganize, reduce, and  reclaim personnel cost savings. Through these efforts, we are positioned to achieve an operating surplus in line with our financial objectives for 2010, and have identified further cost saving options that can be implemented  if the situation dictates.

Q: How many residents live in Colleton River?
A: Colleton River Plantation has 705 home sites with over 300 homes built or in the process.  Approximating, 134 members are considered full-time residents, 133 considered seasonal (here less than 9 months a year), 179 are considered non-resident, 82 members are considered local but not living in the plantation , and several members own multiple properties.

Q: Do the members own Colleton River Plantation Club?
A: Yes, Colleton River members own the plantation; however, the Developer still owns 116 lots.

Q: What is the average age of your membership?
A: 55-65 years of age.

Q: Do you have food and beverage minimums?
A: No, there are no food and beverage minimums.

Q: How many tennis courts do you have?
A: We have 5 Har-Tru tennis courts with plans for a 6th court in the future.
